Investment Risk Disclosure

These tokens are utility instruments

The tokens available through XMarkets and the wider Omnichain ecosystem are utility instruments: they are earned through participation, held for access to platform features, and spent on services. They are not offered or sold as investments. Nothing on this site — and nothing in the Whitepaper or the Guide — is financial advice, a solicitation, or a promise of profit, return, or future value. Read the risks below plainly before you participate.

The risks

Community market prices can move, and can go to zero. Tokens listed by community members trade at prices those sellers set. There is no guaranteed buyer, no guaranteed price, and no floor: the price of a token on a community market can fall to zero.

The 1 AVAX treasury price is a convention, not a guarantee. The fixed utility price at which the treasury sells tokens and the fixed 1:1 swap rate are pricing conventions for access and exchange inside the ecosystem. They are not a guarantee of market value, not a redemption promise, and not an assurance that any token can be sold for 1 AVAX, or for anything, to anyone else.

AVAX itself is volatile. Because ecosystem tokens are bought with AVAX, the value of what you hold moves with the AVAX market as well. AVAX can lose a large part of its value quickly.

Smart contracts can contain bugs. The settlement contract that operates this market has been built and tested carefully, but no smart contract can be proven free of defects. A bug could affect escrowed tokens, listings, or swaps, and blockchain transactions cannot be reversed.

Swap inventory is finite. Swaps are paid from the exchange’s own inventory of each token. That inventory is published on-chain and currently stocked deeply, but it can be depleted; a swap larger than the available inventory cannot be filled at that time.

Self-custody risk is yours. You hold your assets in your own wallet. If you lose your private key or Secret Recovery Phrase, your assets are lost permanently — there is no recovery service, no password reset, and no one who can restore access for you. If someone else obtains your phrase, they can take your assets.

Regulation can change. The rules governing digital assets in Canada and elsewhere are evolving. Changes in law or regulation could affect the availability, transferability, or operation of the tokens and this platform.

Technology and network risks. The platform depends on the Avalanche network, on hosting infrastructure, and on your own device and internet connection. Network congestion, outages, or failures in any of these can delay or prevent transactions, and transaction fees on the network vary.

Only participate with what you can afford to lose

Only participate with funds you can afford to lose entirely. Do your own research, read the Whitepaper and the Privacy Statement, start with small amounts while you learn, and consult a licensed financial advisor for advice about your personal circumstances.
